Church and After!

Today was our first time back at our church since we were in Florida for the summer! We love our church and were so excited to be back! The summer schedule puts late service an hour earlier, but we actually like it better because we have more of our day after church! At church, I like to dress conservatively but still put my fun personality into it! I am also super old school in that I always want to show up in my Sunday best! Dresses with cute patterns and cardigans usually do the trick! And don’t forget the heels!! I just make sure that the length of the dress works for all the sitting, standing, and kneeling! Here is my outfit:

Dress: From a thrift store in Florida!
Cardigan: Ann Taylor

Shoes: Nine West

Belt: Altar’d State

Bag: Fossil

Accessorized with classic pearls and Rustic Cuff!

I was also really excited to get back to our tradition of having lunch after church! Some weeks we have a nice brunch, and other times we grab fast food!! It depends on our mood, but we always do it!! Today we went casual with Raising Canes!! Their sauce is my favorite for dipping chicken, and the service at the one on Second in Edmond is PHENOMENAL!!

Do y’all have any weekend traditions? Let me know in the comments! And enjoy what is left of your weekend!

Casual Movie Date

Happy weekend, y’all!! It is Saturday night, which usually means date night for the Rosefam! (#rosefam) We had a super casual one tonight at Kickingbird Cinemas! Ben has two degrees in history, so he was SUPER excited about Dunkirk! It ended up being a well done and powerful movie, though I don’t think war movies will ever truly be my jam.

So, what does one wear to a casual summer movie date? It was in the 90s outside, but movie theaters are always so chilly! I had a nice pair of shorts and a top, so I went for the “boyfriend” trend and added my hubby’s flannel! The colors matched perfectly, and I was comfy for the whole movie! This is probably the most casual look y’all will ever see unless I do a workout post!!

Flannel: Polo Ralph Lauren
Shirt: Danskin

Shorts: Talbot’s (they have flamingoes on them!!!!)

Shoes: Sperry

Bag: Fossil

Accessorized with classic pearls and Rustic Cuff!

When I do a boyfriend type look, I like to make the other stuff super feminine and cute, so I added pink and pearls to glam it up a bit! It is a fun juxtaposition! Plus, Ben thinks it is super cute when I wear something of his!

I hope those of you who date had wonderful date nights this weekend! If not, I hope it has been filled with happiness no matter what! See you next time!

From Work to Play

TGIF!!! Fridays are always fun! It’s the last day of many people’s work week, so that means exciting things can happen after work! We haven’t gotten back to a normal schedule in our public schools yet, but there are several meetings already taking place. Today I had a leadership team meeting (overachiever alert!) for the first half of the day, followed by a fun social outing with my lovely colleagues in the evening! We went to The Patriarch for food and drinks! If you haven’t been there, the beer/cider list is outstanding, and different food trucks are featured! Filipino Fusion was tonight’s truck and it was delicious!!

I don’t know about y’all, but I do not want to go through the hassle of picking two separate outfits for Friday’s work day and later social events. I try to find outfits that could work for both! This is not easy in all jobs, but it is quite doable for teachers! I look for outfits that are classy enough for work, but sassy enough for an evening of fun! Here is mine from tonight:

Scarf: Passed down through family
Shirt: Lilly Pulitzer (my favorite designer!)

Skirt: Express

Not pictured: Nude Nine West pumps

I was more dressed up than most people at the event, but I am normally pretty dressy! Just my personal style! ๐Ÿ˜Š I would love to see what you like to wear when you transition from work to play!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Don’t Rain on My Parade!

Do rainy days get you down? Do you want to cuddle up with coffee, blankets, and Harry Potter all day instead of going to work?

Me too!

Unfortunately, the world doesn’t quite work like that! If it did, my lovely Washington friends would be severely underemployed. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We simply have to be prepared for those days and find fun ways to stay motivated. I had orientation for Edmond Public Schools today! (Yay for switching districts!) Due to dreary weather, I had to be my own sunshine! My secret weapon:

And also a pretty adorable work outfit!

Button down: Antilia Femme
Pants: Loft

Tied Scarf: Hand me down from my aunt!

Pumps: Nine West

Let me know in the comments how you beat the rainy day blues! Or let me know if you absolutely love these days!

See you soon!
